I had the opportunity to attend the Entwickler Summit in Berlin, and it was an invaluable experience. While the buzz around AI is palpable, the discussions on architectural topics such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), legacy modernization, and responsible software design were truly enlightening.
The keynote by Adrian Cockcroft was excellent. He reflected on the evolution of software systems over the last thirty years, drawing on his experience at companies such as Sun Microsystems, eBay, Netflix, and Amazon. It’s impressive that he is still working on new and modern technologies, such as AI.
AI Takeaway
AI will change software development, but this change will happen over the mid to long term. Ultimately, the evolution will depend on people, and the business value will drive the change. Software is still not just about computers!
